Two circulars from RBI to Non Banking Finance Companies (NBFCs) for inclusion of persons with disabilities

The circular dated July 2010 is about providing loan facilities without any discrimination to persons with disabilities.
The circular dated January 2011 is about training their emplyoyees to provide services to the persons with disabilities.

RBI circular titled "Need for Bank Branches/ATMs to be made accessible to persons with disabilities"

In this circular dated 13 April 2009, Reserve Bank of India states that "banks should make at least one third of new ATMs installed as talking ATMs with Braille keypads and place them strategically in consultation with other banks to ensure that at least one talking ATM with Braille keypad is generally available in each locality".

RBI notification to provide banking facilities to visually impaired persons

In this notification dated 04 June 2008, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) clearly states that "banking facilities including cheque book facility / operation of ATM / locker etc. cannot be denied to the visually challenged".
