The members of Shri Jagannath Charitable Trust of Kendrapada led by its president Daman Kumar Mohanty donated white cane (locally called Ashabadi) to some visually-impaired persons of the district who were roaming in the streets, for their daily uses.

According to sources, Mohanty recently came across five visually impaired persons moving in the streets helplessly. They were carrying bamboo lathis. He later met them and promised them to provide white cane for their smooth movement. Recently, the members of the trust purchased five white canes and donated them to the blind persons of the township area by organizing a function. They also provided meals to them.

 The good gesture of the trust members has been appreciated by the people in the district.
