Tue, 07/24/2012 - 13:22 -- admin

We are delighted to announce our TV series Nazar Ya Nazariya.

The thirteen part series, was aired on Doordarshan National and is now available on our YouTube Channel Eyeway India. The series aims at challenging common perceptions and focuses on immense possibilities of life with blindness. Each episode of the television series is introduced and signed off by the renowned actor Naseeruddin Shah, and anchored by Harsh Chhaya, a popular television actor.

Naseeruddin Shah’s support for Score Foundation and the show has been exceptional. At the Launch event of the show at The Press Club in New Delhi on 3rd September 2013, he explained:

“When I did Sparsh in the early 1980s, I had the opportunity of interacting with several visually impaired individuals. I realized that the problem is not with the Nazar it is with the Nazariya.

What is important here is that people like you and me need to break away from the societal stereotypes and commonly held perceptions about disability and success or happiness. This is the main message that we are trying to drive through this television series and we hope that we are able to achieve this goal by reaching out to more and more people of this country.”

The programme is in Hindi and has been kindly supported by Sightsavers UK, Tech Mahindra Foundation and Union Bank of India. Our Radio Partner Mirchi Cares, a CSR Initiave for the Visually Impaired.

Since our supporters are our greatest evangelists, we request all of you to please spread the message, and encourage more and more people to watch the show. Please remember, we cannot hope to change perceptions unless we reach out to a wide base of people.
