Saksham Daksh School

Saksham Daksh School realized that children with multiple disability or children with blindness living in Noida were not able to take any benefits of these centres. During their interactions with special educators, they also realized that some children with blindness were already enrolled in the main stream schools but did not have access to any support services due to which they were facing a lot of difficulty and not able to get quality education in Noida region. There fore, Saksham Trust established the Saksham Daksh School which has most experienced Special educators, speech Therapist, Occupational therapist, transportation facility, functional assessment and sensory stimulation rooms.                        
Digital Talking Books Production Center:                        
Talking books and Talking magazines are a very important means for bringing the printed world to the visually impaired. Since Saksham Daksh School is catering to various regional requirements, this needs to be done in many Indian Languages in spite of the predominance of the English Language. These books can be used in different formats viz audio cassettes and CD recordings.                        
CD recordings:                        
Recording in Digital Access Information System known as (DAISY), provides a unique navigational system through which a reader can easily and quickly, access the material not only chapter wise, section wise or subsection wise, but also page wise. In other words he/she can reach the required heading/page/section almost effortlessly within no time. This system is economical as well as portable. These recorded books can be preserved for an unlimited period and can also be upgraded easily. These books are produced on CDs and can be read on mp3 players, mobile phones or on the computer. These can be transmitted over the internet too. The aim of the talking book Digital Library is to provide the full range of materials in DAISY format.                        
Saksham trust is working in collaboration with the DAISY Forum of India. Saksham trust have completed the recording of all NCERT text books from class 9th to 12th both in English and Hindi medium.                        
Samarth Project- Netbook Scheme For Person With Low Vision And Blindness:                        
Saksham Trust is happy to launch the “Samarth” Project. This project is dedicated to those university students and end-users who want to use the computers for their daily reading and writing purpose but due to the high cost of hardware and software, they are unable to do so.                        
                        
The first phase of this project has been completed with the kind support of “IFCI” (industrial finance corporation of India). The software compilation of useful software which makes this netbook extremely attractive and easily usable by persons with blindness or low vision had been done by Saksham Trust and by volunteers of Intel under the Samarth Project.
