DAULTALA:

Punjab Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Chaudhry Sajid Mehmood has said that funds amounting to Rs2 million for the establishment of a computer lab at a school in Daultala for differently-abled children have been released.

The lawmaker made this statement while addressing the annual performance and new enrolment ceremony held at the said school.

Mehmood claimed that the establishment of a school for differently-abled children had been his priority from the time he was elected, adding that he has donated four kanals of land for an additional building in the school and pledging a donation of Rs0.1 million on a monthly basis.

He said that while a similar school exists in Gujar Khan, the great distance was an impediment for the children of Daultala. Therefore, it afforded him immense satisfaction that the students can now go to a school within easy reach. He also revealed that arrangements have been made to add another school bus to the existing fleet.

The MPA went on to say that trained teachers play a pivotal role in the education of speech and hearing-impaired students.

Former Member of National Assembly candidate Chaudhry Muhammad Azeem said that educating differently-abled children opens up unlimited opportunities for them to make valuable contributions to society.

He announced his intention to provide devices for the visually impaired children studying at the school.

District Education Officer Dr Fauzia Khurshid lauded the enrolment of over a hundred students in the school in just one year of its establishment. She also paid tribute to the excellent performance of the school staff and hailed the services of the MPA.
