Symphony in Leadership- Integration of Visual and Performing Arts in Education.

It was wonderful interacting with you and connecting on the theme. It was also very inspiring to hear about your involvement and passion at grass root level. As a Social Enterpreneur, Inspirational Speaker and a Communicator, i am sure you have inspired millions and made a difference to lives of many people. Well, i am one of the millions !
As shared, the BML Munjal University is organizing a program for Delhi/NCR school leaders.  As someone involved in shaping the future of young boys and girls in our country, you would be glad to know about an institution that is premised on an innovative higher education model. Founded by the Hero Group, BML Munjal University (BMU) is a not-for-profit initiative that blends academic rigour and breadth with real-life, professional skills. The University seeks to nurture ethical leaders who are skilled, knowledgeable and have the life skills required for leading their organizations to success.
The curriculum is centred around experiential learning, with up to 45% of the contact hours spent on hands-on learning - amongst the highest in the world. BMU’s academic mentor is Imperial College London, who are ranked 8th in the QS World University rankings (2015). BMU has also partnered with the University of Maryland and Singapore Management University. The University is facilitating advanced R&D through state of-the-art research centres and labs and partnerships with leading R&D institutes such as Fraunhofer Gesellschaft (Europe’s largest applied research organisation) and four national R&D labs.
As a young University, BMU has also tried to bridge the gap between schools and Higher Education by providing platforms for sharing and had initiated a Leadership Series for Principals across the country. From focusing on larger issues in the field of education, to grass root level transactions, the emphasis has been on relevant issues that concern principals and solutions shared that are practical and feasible. Since human resource is a talent pool of possibility and is the actual translator of visions dreamed by leaders, the first of the Series focused on Teacher Motivation. The second one scheduled for this year is on Integration of Visual and Performing Arts in Education, a theme that has wide ramifications when corelated with learning of concepts by students.
There would be in all major three sessions. The first session would be a panel discussion wherein we would invite stakeholders to express their views on the impact and challenges of integrating visual and performing arts in classroom transaction and attempt to achieve a meaningful outcome. The second session would focus on experiential learning by the participants through story-telling, integration of concepts and sharing of some pedagogical practices that would include Visual and Performing Arts. The third session would create a Symphony of Learning wherein the vision, personal belief system, values and attitudes, individual considerations and perspectives of the participants would all come together and propel participants to reflect on what kind of legacy they would like to leave behind.
We shall be very grateful if you could grace the occasion and be our special panelist in Session 1. We would love to hear your thoughts on classroom engagements, curriculum and the need to integrate visual and performing arts in teaching pedagogy. Your views- not only from the perspective of a parent but also from the perspective of inclusion could really provide insights and help leaders to understand the importance of introducing different methodologies to improve student learning outcomes.
