webinar invite-Sexual Harassment and the #MeToo Movement: Women with Disabilities End the Silence

Rising Flame

As part of our 16 Days Campaign to end violence against women with disabilities , ‘From the Shadows to the Center’, we would like to invite you for our webinar, ‘Sexual Harassment and the #MeToo Movement: Women with Disabilities End the Silence, on Monday, 7th December 2020 at 6 pm IST.

Globally, 19.2 percent of women live with a disability. They are 2 to 3 times more vulnerable to abuse, harassment and violence. Yet they remain invisible, unheard, or in the shadows. This webinar is a part of our attempt to center narratives of women with disabilities, to spotlight the sexual harassment experienced by them, the difficulties they face in speaking up and the legal frameworks available. The attempt will also be to help us build systems and safeguards to ensure a safe and dignified environment for women with disabilities within work spaces.

Join us for this webinar where Rising Flame’s founder and executive director Nidhi Goyal will be in conversation with eminent panelists- Vrinda Grover, Amba Salelkar, and Shikha Silliman Bhattacharjee- all lawyers, researchers and human rights professionals.
