Scribe related circular for RRB exam Indian Railways
Circular issued by the Railway Board, Indian Railways for providing concessions/facilities including scribes to persons with disabilities while conducting examination for their recruitment. The matter has been reviewed by the Board and the clause of 60% (criteria for scribe) has been withdrawn and the new rule says that “the scribe can be of any academic discipline if the recruitment is for general post. Important information for visually impaired candidates taking the Common Written Exam (CWE) conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel & Selection (IBPS)
Office of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities has issued a notice titled "Guidelines prescribed by IBPS for persons with disabilities using scribe" for the IBPS common written exam for clerical positions in 19 public sector banks, to be held on 27 November 2011 (and two more exams on the next two Sundays). The notice says, "that the condition that the scribe should have lesser marks than the candidate and not more than 60% marks in his/her academic stream as prescribed by IBPS for appearing in the common written examination, will put the candidates with disabilities to serious disadvantage. Therefore no such conditions should be prescribed."

Self Employment
Allotment of STD/PCO to disabled persons
Educated unemployed persons are eligible for allotment of STD/PCO booths. The educational qualification for the applicants are:
- VIIIth or middle class pass for rural areas
- Matriculation or high school for urban areas

Reservation in government schemes for persons with disabilities
Out of the funds allocated in all poverty alleviation programmes in rural and urban areas, 3% is earmarked for usage by persons with disabilities (in terms of allocation of resources as well as individual coverage)
The formation of self help group for supporting economic activities is encouraged and training in appropriate vocational trade is provided free of cost. Government is providing support to self-help group under the scheme Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana.
