Delhi , powered by an experienced player like Sushil Gaur emerged the champion, outplaying Uttar Pradesh in the final of the Fourth Visually Impaired Cricket Tournament held at K.D. Singh 'Babu' stadium, in Lucknow , on June 6. Later, at the prize distribution function, Justice Jagdish Bhalla gave away the prizes to the winners. Man of the Series went to Alok Singh of Uttar Pradesh and Sushil Gaur of Delhi .
Opting to bat first, Delhi scored a modest 196 runs in the stipulated 25 overs. Top-scorer Gaur played a vital role, smashing nine hits to the rope to collect 89 runs off 58 balls. He was well supported by Ram Karan Sharma (30), Devi Prasad (25) and Sachin who cemented the team's position. Sanjay Rai and Umesh Joshi of Uttar Pradesh snapped up wickets for their team. In reply, Uttar Pradesh managed 160 runs in the allotted overs. Man Singh and Manish Kumar were the two warriors who salvaged some pride for his team, contributing 40 and 23 runs, respectively.
Earlier, on the second day, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh won their respective matches against Uttaranchal and Rajasthan. Uttaranchal scored 85 runs in 20 overs after a loss of nine wickets. Chasing, Delhi reached the target losing two wickets. The chief contributor for Delhi was Rakesh Prajapati, who added 50 runs to his credit. He was supported by Surya Prakash, adding 114 runs.
In the match between Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh piled 95 runs in 12 overs. Rajasthan was bundled out for 94 runs in 19.4 overs.
