The Association of Media Libraries and Archives (AMLA), a professional forum, was originally conceptualized by the Indian media library and information professionals, during the IFLA International Newspaper Conference which was held from February 25-28,2010 at IGNCA, New Delhi.
As the AMLA is now fully functional, it seriously aims for regular exchange of professional ideas and knowledge sharing through conferences, seminars, workshops, training programmes and publications etc., by catering to the development needs of professionals working in various Media Libraries and Archives in India, which is the first such initiative, in the mass media industry in the Country.
Association Media Libraries and Archives (AMLA) , in collaboration with the Central Library, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi and UNESCO is organizing its 1st National Conference AMLANC-2013, on the theme, “Managing Indian Media Libraries and Archives: Challenges, Opportunities and Best Practices” during 4 - 5th February 2013, at the Jawaharlal Nehru University Convention Centre, New Delhi.
The conference will be followed by Training Workshop on Capacity Building on ‘Digitization, and Digital Archiving in Media Libraries and Archives’ on 6th February 2013. The workshop will be conducted by experts from Singapore and UK.
There is no separate fee for workshop. All participants of the conference may attend. Only the outside participants need to pay for one day extra accommodation only. The topics covered under the workshop will be as follows:i. Microfilm : A Media for long term preservationii. From Digital to Microfilmingiii. Digitizationiv. Digital Preservationv. Digital ArchivingVi. Training on Greenstone may be included.

The Registration Fee is as follows:
Sponsored Participants: Rs.2000/- without accommodation, Rs.3500/- with accommodation for 2 nights and three days
Individuals/Students: Rs.1000/- without accommodation, Rs.2500/- with accommodation for 2 nights and three days
Foreign delegates: US $ 50 without accommodation, US $ 100 with accommodation for 2 nights and three days
