Fri, 01/10/2014 - 15:51 -- nikita.jain

Minugurulu, a movie under the banner of Respect Creations would be organising a 5k walk, ‘Seeing beyond sight’, in support of the visually impaired community. Addressing the media on Thursday, Ayodhya Kumar Krishnamsetty, director of Minugurulu said, “There is not much awareness about the problems faced by the visually impaired community. They can see more than what we can see. We do not need eyes to visualise things. After working with visually impaired in my film, I have realised that it is easier to work with visually impaired rather than the abled ones. ”

School children and teachers, celebrities and people from other communities would be seen participating in the event. “In order to experience the difficulties faced by the visually impaired, the abled will be blindfolded during the walk,” he said. Director and producer Dasari Narayana Rao and Sekhar Kammula and actress Shriya Saran would be the guest of honors. “We are expecting more than 5,000 people at the event. This event is to lift up the spirits of the visually impaired and to make them feel a part of the society,” he said.
The event would flag off at 7.30 am on January 6 at Peoples Plaza.
