Beyond Sight

Beyond Sight is an exhibition of photographs taken by photographers with varying degrees of visual impairment, ranging from partial to total blindness.

, , Various tactile, audio clues, visual memories of sight, the warmth of light, cognitive skills and intuitive abilities are used by the visually impaired to create a mental image before they take judgement to take a picture.

, , Beyond Sight illuminates a new line of thought distinct from the way we approach photography, makes us recall what photography is all about creating a picture.

, , It is the culmination of a project initiated by Partho Bhowmick in association with the Victoria Memorial School for the Blind, Mumbai, and is the first of its kind in, India. Beyond Sight will travel to Bangalore, New Delhi and Kolkata between June to December 2007.
