Blind children to perform

Tue, 06/20/2017 - 10:38 -- geeta.nair

Around 40 visually challenged children from Ranga Rao Memorial School for the Disabled will participate in the mass yoga demonstration on at Mysuru Racecourse on Wednesday.

A yoga teacher appointed by the district administration has been training the students and more than 1,000 employees of Cycle Pure Agarbathies for an hour every day.

It takes more skill and planning for a teacher to train visually challenged students. The instructions should be clear, concise and direct, giving an overview of the pose and a sense of its direction, a release said.

Arjun Ranga, MD of Cycle Pure Agarbathies, said Mysuru is deeply rooted in the ancient practice of yoga and certainly qualifies as the world’s ‘yoga capital’. “We appreciate the yoga day initiative by the administration and [we] extend our support. We are very excited to perform on International Yoga Day,” he said in the release.
