Mon, 07/23/2012 - 11:42 -- admin

The uniqueness about the event was that the route was kept under wraps and it was made known to the rally drivers only during the course of the rally.

The 70 kilometer long journey led by blind navigators commenced from the National Association of the Blind building on Worli Seaface, Mumbai. They guided the sighted drivers through a series of checkpoints, highlighting their skill and ability.

The rally held on February 11, 2007, was meant to bring into focus the initiatives of R.T.I. towards eradicating illiteracy and the problems faced by blind people. The event drew over 100 participants from all walks of life.

Brand Ambassador and Hindi film actor Ajay Devgan said he was delighted to be part of this initiative and added, "The participation of each one of us counts as it is a movement for educating millions of underprivileged children."

The Motor Sports Authority of India and Indian Automotive Racing Club were the organisers of Round Table 2 Blind Man’s Car Rally.
