Protesting against the Haryana government's failure to fill backlog of posts reserved for them in various departments, blind persons blocked the national highway-1 here on Friday. They agreed to lift the blockade half an hour later, after the administration persuaded them to do so. Members of Drishtihin Sangh, led by its president Krishan Malik, who has been demanding that the state government should fill the posts reserved for the visually impaired, sat on the highway adjoining Ambala Cantonment bus stand and raised slogans against the government. A police team reached the spot and in half an hour the district administration persuaded the protesters to end their siege.
