Dance Competition for the Visually Impaired

We are pleased to inform you that the NAB Sports and Cultural Centre for the Visually Impaired will be organising the first Dance Competition for Blind persons from 9th to 11th  September, 2009, at the NAB Department of Rehabilitation, King George V Infirmary, Dr. E. Moses Road,  Near Famous Studio, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai, 400011.
 
Our visually challenged friends can participate in this competition in two categories:  solo or duet and cash prizes will be given to the winners, runners up etc. in the above two mentioned categories. Details of the same will be available in the entry forms and the participation fee is Rs.20 per head.

Open Dance Competition (FREE  STYLE)  for the Visually Impaired
RULES AND REGULATIONS
 

  1. The Dance Competition is only for bonafide visually impaired persons who are of 18 years of age and above.
  2. In case of any doubts, the blind participant will have to produce a medical certificate to prove the same.
  3. The competition will be conducted under the aegis of Sports and Cultural Centre for the Visually Impaired at the NAB Department of Rehabilitation, King George V Infirmary, Dr. E. Moses Road, Near Famous Studios, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai, 400011. Phone numbers: 24942795 or 24945108.
  4. The elimination and finals for the dance competition will be held from 9-11  September 2009, at the NAB Department of Rehabilitation.
  5. The time duration for each item should not be more than 3 minutes.
  6. Entry forms can be collected on a payment of Rs.20 for solo and Rs.40 for duet rounds from Mr. R. M. Naik, Assistant Director, NAB Department of Rehabilitation only during office hours and the same should be submitted to him accordingly.
  7. Each entry form duly completed,  should be accompanied with a bonafide blindness certificate and a coloured photograph. The last date for submission is 17 August 2009.
  8. Blind persons can participate in either solo or duet rounds and all items pertaining to their participation in the competition will have to be prepared by the participants themselves.
  9. The organisers will not take up any responsibilities regarding the costumes, make up and the cassettes/CDs for the participation in the competition.
  10. Attractive cash prizes will be awarded to: a)  the winner, b) the first runner up, and c) second runner up in each category.
  11. The panel of judges will be appointed by the members of the organising committee and the decision of the judges will be final and binding.
  12. The blind persons are permitted to participate in both the categories but separate forms are to be filled for each category.  
  13. In case of any indiscipline or misbehaviour by any of the competitors the members of the organising committee will have no option but to suspend the participant as per the merit of the case.
  14. The organizers are unable to provide boarding and lodging for upcountry participants.
  15. Transport fare or any other fare will not be provided nor reimbursed.
  16. In case of any further details or clarifications desired, the competitors should contact the organisers at the NAB Department of Rehabilitation, whenever required.
