Diwali gifts by specially abled kids

Thu, 10/31/2013 - 11:01 -- deepti.gahrotra

The children at MBCN are very excited about making products for this Diwali. This would include making handmade and printed paper carry bags, envelops, gift box, chocolate box, jewelry box, cobra files products, bangle box, office kit, gift kit etc. and various handmade products. The products made by the children would be sold out at the Kiosk in some of the prominent malls of Wave group - Centre Stage mall (Noida), Wave mall (Ludhiana and Lucknow) to promote the hard work and aptitude of the differently abled students of MBCN.

With the vision of enabling the disabled, Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN), a part of the Ponty Chadha Foundation, was established for the differently- abled children in the society. The institution was founded by Late Shri Gurdeep Singh Chadha (Ponty Chadha) in a special endeavor in 1999 with the vision to educate and equip special children to live within the community, focusing on the three folds of self dependence: Physical, Social and Financial to the best of their ability.

MBCN is the largest day-care special school for the rehabilitation of very special children suffering from congenital, intellectual and physical infirmities or incompatibilities, including Down's Syndrome, cerebral palsy, seizures, mental retardation, visual and hearing impairment, multiple disabilities and the inability to psychologically interact with the society and community due to brain development disorders.

Through the help of specialized experts, physiotherapists, speech therapists and doctors, these children receive special care and attention along with physical and intellectual support.  At MBCN, it is trusted that these children should be loved and respected in the society as any other normal child. The school provides need-based academic, communication, social and motor skills training to over 800 children where they are groomed and self-governed through various vocational programs as it plays a significant role in their development and building of self confidence.

MBCN through the vocational training gives trainees a chance to learn and gain sense of self worth and dependence, and improve their inter personal relationships. Many corporates are also coming forward to join hands with MBCN for the benefit of these students.

Together we should join hand to support in giving equality to the disabled section of the society.
