Members of the Zilla Angavikalara Kalyana Vedike launched an indefinite dharna in front of the Town Hall here on Wednesday in support of several demands, including regularisation of services of multipurpose rehabilitation workers working in taluks and villages on honorary basis and fixing salaries for them.

Demand

District president of the Zilla Angavikalara Kalyana Vedike C. Gangaraju demanded that the government announce the posts of multipurpose rehabilitation worker and village multipurpose rehabilitation worker as permanent.

Pension

Mr. Gangaraju demanded that the government immediately give pension to the disabled which is pending for the past eight months.

He urged the government to increase the amount given for self-employment purposes and announce pension for the disabled unemployed youth.

More than 400 agitators are taking part in the dharna.
