Foundation Course in Computers and Employability for Persons with Vision Impairment 2023-2024
We are pleased to inform you that The Kerala Blind School Society, Aluva in collaboration with Enable India offers a comprehensive 6 months Foundation Course in Computers and Employability for persons with vision impairment. This course aims to empower and equip participants with essential skills to enhance their computer literacy, mobility, Life skills, English communication, employability prospects to lead an independent and respectful life.

Course Details:
Duration: 6 months 
Timings: 9:30am to 6:00pm (Monday to Saturday)
Note: No occasional leaves will be granted during the course period

Course criteria:
1. Age: Not more than 40 years 
2. Education Qualification: Minimum 12th pass and above 
3. Disability: Persons with vision impairment 

Subjects Covered:
• Computer Skills: the basics of computer operations the fundamentals of Microsoft Word and Excel, and internet through web browsing and managing Gmail.
• Mobility Training: Various cane techniques, navigate narrow spaces seamlessly, and develop sound localization skills. 
• Volunteer Activity: Giving exposure in mall visit, metro journey, teaching signature guide, role model session, gaming activities etc.
• Life Skills: personal growth and success, including time management, problem-solving, decision-making, stress management, and interpersonal skills. These invaluable skills will empower you to overcome challenges and thrive in all areas of life.
• English Communication Skills: Enhance your speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities, enabling you to confidently engage in everyday conversations and interactions. 
• Employability Skills: essential employability skills such as handling responsibilities, note-taking, goal setting, building a learning bank, and fostering trust within a team.

Participants will receive certificates after successfully completing the course with required attendance.
Food and accommodation would be provided during the entire course ensuring a conducive learning environment.
