International Congress VI2009

The year 2009 which sees the commemoration of the bicentenary of the birth of Louis BRAILLE, is a unique opportunity to celebrate the great inventor who provided blind people all around the world with the means to read and write, which they use everyday, as well as take stock of the actual situation of these people in the contemporary world.

It is with this aim that the CINAL, (International Committee for the Commemoration of the Bicentenary of the Birth of Louis BRAILLE), an organisation created for the occasion by the great French and European associations of the world of the blind, is organising with the participation of the FAF - Federation of the blind from France, in Coupvray, the native town of Louis BRAILLE, the International VI- 2009 Congress.

On the Euro-Disney website, researchers and teachers, politicians and heads of large corporations, women and men of culture, blind and sighted people will meet from 18th to 20th June 2009 to deal with the major issues which concern the blind and visually impaired at the start of this third millennium.

In a world where image is everything, how can those who cannot see, or who have difficulty seeing, become integrated into the educational systems and businesses? How can they participate in the cultural life of our countries?

The greatest international specialists who are working on this question will have the possibility of exchanging their viewpoints, comparing their experiences and outlining responses bearing hope.
Participate in this event, on 18th/19th/20th June 2009

Around this great VI2009 event, we are hoping that top professionals in integration, heads of businesses, HR Managers, communication specialists, those in charge of education and training centres, the main decision makers of social action, representatives from regions, counties and communities, directors of the MDPH, as well as the interested parties themselves, will be able to meet here, in order that the town where Louis Braille was born may strike up a genuine conversation again between all these people who, in one way or another, are concerned by the question of visual impairment.
