It offers a number of features/ benefits:
- Works as an embosser when connected to PC
- Automatic translation of text to Braille when connected directly to computer keyboard. Automatic translation of Braille to text when connected directly to a printer.
- If the teacher does not know Braille she can type exam papers, test sheets on normal computer keyboard and it will automatically gets translated into Braille on the Mountbatten and the students can type on the MB Braille keyboard the answers which would than be automatically translated into normal English text when connected with a standard printer so that the teacher can correct the same. In this way, it will provide a facility of a 2-way communication between resource teacher and blind students for integrated education
- Since it is a Talking Electronic Brailler it would help teaching the young blind children to learn Braille as it announces the alphabets when the corresponding Braille keys are pressed and can also read and correct the full documents typed on the same as it comes with a speech synthesizer.
