National IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities 2017

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of persons with Disabilities, Government of India is going to organize a national competition for the youth with disabilities to meet the global IT challenges in young generation of disabled at National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra. It will be a two days competitive program from July 20 –July 21, 2017 in which disabled candidates of various categories from different parts of India will participate to show their talent in the field of information technology and e-learning.  The winner from each category may get a chance to represent India in Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities 2017 in Vietnam in September, 2017. All expenses of which will borne by the organizers.

Eligibility for Candidates to participate in National IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities 2017

•Must be from the categories of visual, hearing, physical (locomotor) and   Development/Intellectual disorder having Medical certificate issued by competent authorities.

•Must be in age group of 13-19 for all categories.

•Must be able to work with Internet explorer web browser, MS Office and Scratch programmes.

•Must be able to communicate in English.

Important Note: College and University going Youth with disabilities are not allowed to participate even if they are falling in within the above age group.

You are requested to send the participants from your organization for the event and send the application form (see  attachment  please) along  with medical certificate issued by competent authorities and age proof certificate before July 7, 2017.

Note:  For participating in the National IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities 2017, the applicants shall have to bear the expenditure of their travel. The institute will make arrangement for their lodging and boarding along with one escort during their stay at the venue.
