Pune Camp: The Hospital Cornea Retrieval Programme (HCRP), launched at Sassoon Hospital in November last year, has raised the hopes of visually-impaired people. Thanks to HCRP, the availability of good quality corneal tissues in the city has now become easier.
NEW DELHI: The National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Lalitha Kumaramangalam today supported the proposal of bringing acid attack survivors under the Disability Act cover so as to provide them privileges in jobs and education.
A two-year special course for visually impaired students will be started at Braille Bhawan, Jamalpur. This course has been started jointly by the Centre’s National Institute for Visually Handicapped, Dehradun, and the Punjab Government. Applications have been sought for this special course with duration of two years.
