Congratulations are pouring in for Madhi Rathwa, a visually impaired person from a small village, who won gold at the National Athletics Championships held in Delhi.
He said on his social media website: I am thrilled that I have won the gold medal in the javelin throw category at the National Athletics Championship. I threw 15 meters in javelin throw in visually impaired category. This is considered my greatest achievement and pride. My thanks to our school and my sports coach.
Madhi, a class 8 student of Surabi School for the Blind, has been active in sports since childhood. After this the school saw his talent and hired a coach for him.
He said that initially the training was very tough for him but the daily one hour training changed my mindset and when I participated in the district level competitions and won, the school encouraged me to participate in the national championship.
