The Indian Blind Football Federation (IBFF) is organising the Fourth Edition of the IBFF National Blind Football Tournament from 12-15 Apr'19 at Bengaluru at the Fever Pitch Yeshwantpur turf ground ( www.feverpitch.fit) which has international quality side boards and facilities . Had previously conducted the South/ West Zone tournament in early Sept'18 at the same venue. This time, we are expecting 16 teams with 160 players to participate with International IBSA approved referees and officials conducting the games, we will be training new players too. There will also be a first time Women's Blind Football Demo game on the Final day.
IBFF is an independent body developing the game since 2013 and is affiliated to the Paralympic Committee of India & IBSA New Delhi and is recognized as the only body to promote and organize football for the blind in India, and works with the AIFF for Technical Support. India is 29th in the world in the sport, and it is the avowed objective of IBFF to train and prepare a National Level team for the Paralympics in the future. Blind Football is a 5-a-side game and a Paralympic Sport played in a futsal size ground with the football having bells inside, the players are all blind and are protected with eye masks and the goal-keeper is sighted.
