Job Description and Responsibilities: The applicant for the position of Associate Director should have broad scientific expertise in human genomics and a commitment to genomics-based health care. The Associate Director will assist the Director in establishing scientific programs, recruiting faculty members and developing scientific collaborations.  
Qualifications Required: 
Essential: The applicant should have a M.D. or a Ph.D. degree with at least 15 years' experience in human genetics research and training, a strong record of peer-reviewed publications in human genetics and genomics, leadership experience and excellent communication skills.
Age: Not exceeding 50 years, with 5 years age-limit relaxation for SC/ST/OBC applicants, and 10 years relaxation for physically/mentally challenged applicants. 
Desirable: Experience in the conduct and management of complex research projects, scientific staff, training programs and interdisciplinary collaborations. 
Salary Scale: Rs. 37400 - 67000 (Grade Pay: Rs. 12000)

1.    PROFESSOR, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AND ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Applicants must have a strong potential for creative research in molecular and genomic approaches aimed at understanding human disease and/or translation of molecular and genomic findings on human disease to clinical practice. Applicants who have contributed to the understanding of genetics of human diseases using phenotype information and biospecimens collected directly from patients and families, as opposed to in vitro work to obtain mechanistic views of action of genes and proteins, will be given preference. Preference will also be given to applicants with expertise and publications in statistical/computational human genomics. Applicants must also have a strong interest in imparting training in human genetics.
Eligibility Conditions 
Professor : M.D. or Ph.D. degree; 40 or more publications on human genetics; track record of successful extramural funding; 10 years' experience in human genetics teaching; conduct of large research or translational projects; evidence of providing leadership to a research or clinical group; age not exceeding 50 years.
Associate Professor : M.D. or Ph.D. degree; 20 or more publications on human genetics; track record of successful extramural funding; 5 years' experience in human genetics teaching; age not exceeding 45 years. 
Assistant Professor : M.D. or Ph.D. degree; at least two-years' post-doctoral experience in human genetics; 5 or more publications on human genetics; age not exceeding 40 years.
(For SC/ST/OBC applicants, age limit will be relaxed by 5 years; for physically/mentally challenged applicants, age limit will be relaxed by 10 years.)
