‘Redefining living with blindness’
- An Eyeway seminar

‘Redefining living with blindness’, is a one day interactive seminar organised in Nasik on 25 September 2011 to inform, inspire and empower people with blindness/low vision.

The aim is to raise awareness levels about useful assistive technologies, new education & career options, improving social inclusion, and legal provisions & government policies.

Organisers & Facilitators
Om Sai Welfare Association for the Blind & Disable, of Nasik is organizing the seminar as part of their efforts for upliftment of people with disabilities. The organization’s upcoming projects are – setting up the first English medium school for blind in Maharashtra, rehabilitation and developement, and training for competitive exams.

The seminar will be conducted by Eyeway, the knowledge resource about life with blindness. Managed by Score Foundation, Delhi, Eyeway reaches across the country through its radio show, helpdesk, sms alerts, website (www.eyeway.org), seminars and advocacy work.

Who can participate
Persons with blindness or low vision who are atleast matriculate & determined to move ahead in life, special educators who believe in the potential of blind people, NGOs working towards inclusion, and parents who want to see their child becoming a self-reliant and a contributing person, are welcome.

We would prefer higher participation from students/youth with vision impairment. Also preference would be given to people from Nasik and nearby places.

In all we would be able to accommodate 50 participants.

Prior registration
Prior registration is compulsory.
There is no participation fee.
Registration is open from 6 to 16 September 2011.

The hotel is 8km away from railway station, and 500metres away from Central bus stand, commonly called in Nasik as CBS. The hotel is beside G.P.O.

Please note:
Registered participants should reach the venue by 9:00am.
Participants coming from other towns/cities will have to arrange for their transport & stay facilities.
During the day vegetarian lunch would be served, breakfast in morning, and tea/coffee in morning & evening.
