"The View From Here" exhibition of photographs by the visually impaired

Beyond Sight Foundation cordially invites you to the opening of THE VIEW FROM HERE, a unique exhibition of photographs by the visually impaired.

The View From Here occupies the ground zero of photography, a subject full of paradox and revelation. It is a collection of photographs taken by the visually impaired who were trained in photography under the Blind With Camera project between 2006 and 2010.
The Blind with Camera project is the first of its kind in India.

Since 2006, photographs coming out of the project have  been exhibited in several mainstream art galleries across India and abroad. This exhibition is not just about the photographs, it also offers engaging sensitization events that  provides emotional, intellectual and sensory “inclusion” of  both visually impaired and sighted visitors.

Join us to experience the illuminated world of the visually impaired photographers and support them for equal opportunity and to lead a life of dignity.

Exhibition will remain open until Saturday 8th October 2011, from 10am to 7pm on all days.

Visually impaired visitors can access and enjoy the photo exhibits through touch and feel raised pictures, Braille and large print footnotes, accessible catalogues, audio description (AD) and assistance from volunteers
