Wed, 07/25/2012 - 15:47 -- admin

The ‘Voice-Eye’ is a portable text reader designed to help visually impaired people. It comprises of a barcode scanner 'Voice-Eye Symbol' and a player that reads the text stored in the special Voice-Eye Symbol.

The device looks like an iPod with controls arranged in the familiar click wheel style. It is compatible with English, Chinese, Japanese or Korean, all you need is to install a T.T.S. (Text to Speech) engine and Voice –Eye can be used.

The Voice-Eye is currently being used in courts across Korea for reading out judgments. The voice produced is very much human like, it supports stand-alone recording without the need of a P.C. Files can be transferred via Universal Serial Bus (U.S.B.) connection. One can listen to music too on it.

A Lithium Polymer battery powers the Voice-Eye.
