CHENNAI: Over 150 people registered themselves for eye donation in Sankara Nethralaya Hospital on Monday at a function. Polycab, cables and wires manufacturers in India have taken this initiative under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. Employees of Polycab and people from different walks of life came forward to donate their eyes on suggestion by Polycab. According to a press release, the initiative is to promote eye donation and also raise awareness among the people about this novel thing. There are over 2.8 lakh blind people in Tamil Nadu, these kind of donations will give vision to many, said the organisers. After registration, filled-in applications were submitted to Sankara Nethralaya Hospital.
