The National Association for the Blind, Karnataka branch was established in 1977 with a wide range of activities for the education, training and placement of blind persons. • The association is running training centers for imparting mobility training and vocational training to blind persons from all over the state. • It is also involved in implementing Integrated Education Programmes in the urban and rural areas. Blind children attend regular schools as day scholars and live with their parents. • Community Based Rehabilitation programmes for the rural blind are also implemented by the organisation. • Besides this it also has an employment and placement service for blind candidates and a self-employment programme for blind persons.
