On 6th April, he shared a delightful video of a visually-impaired man singing Mohammed Rafi’s iconic song Jaane Walon Zara. KOTA: A Government Public Divisional Library (GPDL) of Kota has taken a unique initiative of facilitating voice donations from people for helping visually impaired students and senior citizens read books in audio.
GPDL has prepared a database of over 1000 voice donors, including library readers, voice-over artists, and theater artists. Other 40 voice donors have already donated their total 120 voice recordings for helping the visually impaired and senior citizens read books.

Students like Akshita (19) are among the beneficiary of the voice donation facility of the GPDL.

The fourth edition of Divya Kaushal, a ‘National Job Fair and HR Conclave’, organised exclusively for Divyangjan or People with Disabilities (PwD) by Saksham Tamil Nadu and Inclusive Divyangjan Entrepreneur Association (IDEA) India was conducted here on Wednesday.
The two-day flagship event was organised for the first time in south India and in a tier two city providing a platform to the aspiring differently abled to connect with potential employers. The event was supported by The Hans Foundation and Rural India Support Trust, USA.

Pune: Breaking stereotypes, two visually-challenged   youngsters from Pune have achieved their dream of becoming  radio jockeys (RJs).
Divya Thorat (19) and Priyanka  and Priyanka Gaikwad (24), students of NFBM Jagriti School  For Blind Girls, Alandi, were the only ones to be selected  from the state by Radio Udaan, an inclusive online radio  station for people with disabilities, through a voice test  in February.

Workshop for students of DPMSHVI underway

CHIMPU, 28 Mar: Forty hearing impaired and visually impaired students of Class 7-10 are participating in a two-day workshop on doormat making for persons with disabilities, which got underway at the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired (DPMSHVI) here on Monday.

The workshop is being organised by the union culture ministry’s North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), in collaboration with the state’s art & culture department.
