PM donates $1.52m to visually impaired cricketers

Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller on Tuesday presented a cheque valued at $1.52 million to the Jamaica Visually Impaired Cricket Association (JVICA) at Jamaica House.

The funds will go towards covering the cost for hosting the upcoming 7th regional visually impaired cricket tournament to be held July 18-24, the Office of the Prime Minister said.

Also present at the handing over was Minister with Responsibility for Sports, Natalie Neita Headley who said that the cricketers were an inspiration to the country by demonstrating that through hard work and determination, anything is possible.
